Nightlife In Estepona

Estepona Nightlife

Estepona en Español

Estepona nightlife offers something for everyone. At first when entering the town during the day you will see a charming fishing village with restaurants and bars but during the night and especially on weekends Estepona changes into a great place to go out and have fun.

The main action takes place in two parts of Estepona: the port and the town centre. Many tourists will first want to have a closer look at the port and the promenade. Here you will find numerous bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious meal before having one or the other drink.

When strolling along the seafront you will realise the numerous different types of bars that can be found there. Choose to your liking from a small Spanish bar to bigger and busier bars.

The first stop for many people will be Reinaldo’s. It is a bar with both tourists and locals and can be found right on the beginning of the port. Another busy place is the Chrisopher Colombus as it is offering karaoke in the evenings. While Reinaldo’s has a very international crowd, the Christopher Colombus is preferred by brits.

But even though there are many places to go in the port, the centre of Estepona still is the best place to go out. Hidden behind corners and in narrow streets you will find a large number of pubs, bars and clubs. Your tour around the nightlife in Estepona should start at the popular Plaza de los Flores. With gardens and a fountain as its centre, the square is surrounded by restaurants and bars. Those who know the Marbella old town will realise that the Plaza de los Flores somehow reminds of the Plaza de las Naranjas. Especially during the summer months you will truly enjoy this place.

Once here in the old town of Estepona you could go for a walk and find hidden treasures such as quaint and charming passageways, small and romantic patios and historical buildings. Should you happen to come across Calle Jubrique you should definitely stop at the popular and well know "Robbie’s" restaurant. It is a truly amazing place and has already played host for people such as Melanie Griffith, Antonio Banderas, Cilla Black and Michael Parkinson.

Estepona itself belongs to the smaller towns in the region but bars and clubs stretch from here towards Benahavís, Costa Natura, Benavista and beyond. Many urbanisations belong to the town and are easily reached by car or public transport. Benahavís for example is just 15 minutes away.

Karaoke fans should visit Benavista. It is one of the coast’s most popular places in terms of karaoke. Five different bars can be found here in which you can sing your favourite songs or simply have a laugh and a drinks. Those who want to watch live sports and have a pint of beer will enjoy "Rooftops" and families who are looking for an affordable restaurant can go to "The Grapevine" or "Grumbles". Also located in Benavista is "Robin Hood" which is a pub that mainly attracts younger people. Right next door to it you will find the "Exotis" discotheque which is open until the early morning hours. Unique in the area is the fact that this club is serving pizza throughout the night.

Live music can be enjoyed at the "Sin Bin" or "Rory’s Bar". The latter is offering a live band playing Celtic music during the Irish Night. Splendid cocktails can be tried at the "Los Arcos" bar which is famous for them.

The earlier mentioned Benahavís is the ideal place to go for an elegant dinner in wonderful surroundings. The small town which can be found on the mountains offers great views of the coast. It is well known for its dining venues and is therefore called the gastronomy capital of the coast. Once there you can choose from a wide range of restaurants, all close to each other. Please note that in many of them you will need a reservation to get in as the food really is excellent and therefore not only tourists but also locals often come here to have a nice evening meal. Many of the establishments offer a terrace on which you can enjoy not only a nice wine and a mouth watering meal but also the terrific views.

What to Wear?
In the town of Estepona you will not really need to worry about clothing as it is a very casual place to go out. Although, we recommended not wearing trainers when you are planning on going into a club.

How much?
Depending on the time of the year, bars and restaurants in Estepona change their prices. During the winter months it is usually much cheaper as in the summer as most tourists are gone. Depending on what you are drinking and where, you should calculate between 20€ and 50€ for a night out.

Parking and Safety
There are several public car parks in the town of Estepona. Depending on where you are going you can park for example directly by the port. Also possible is to park along the streets (when permitted). Parking in Benahavís is usually also not too difficult but you should park your car before entering the narrow streets that are often one ways. The safety in Estepona is secured due to policemen patrolling the area. Benahavís does not really need any police as it has fewer bars and is not nearly as busy during the night as Estepona or Benavista.
